Whitney Stoddard lives in Charleston, SC with her husband, three-year-old daughter and furry (firstborn) cockapoo. Her work has been featured and collected across the United States, as well as internationally. She is best known for her original Tea Collection from which her audience first grew. Whitney’s tea stained paper pieces begin with an organic, yet intentional, tea staining process, which she feels is as much a part of the art as the figures she paints. She loves creating unique, “je ne sais quoi” expressions and sentiment through minimal paintbrush strokes & strives to create ladies that personify the power of simplicity. Inspired by classic design elements and all things vintage, Whitney’s work compliments and pairs perfectly with a wide range of unique interior design styles.
Recently, Whitney has been busy delivering new work to several galleries where she is represented, interior design retail stores, as well as a few interior design firms (Shain Gallery, Gallery1930, Coral by Lindsey Coral Harper, & Serena & Lily). She currently has a gallery on display at the Serena & Lily Dallas (brick & mortar) store, as well as their *NEW Boston location.
A large gallery of her work will be on display in the House Beautiful Showhouse this fall, located in Nashville, TN. The Showhouse opens in October, and will be featured in the October issue of House Beautiful, so be on the lookout!
Whitney is also very excited to be attending High Point Furniture Market this fall (October 17th-23rd)! She will be exhibiting her work the entire week, so if you’re planning on visiting this amazing event, please stop by her booth to say hello!
